Mogadishu, SONNA – Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) special forces conducted a targeted operation in the Sabiid area of Lower Shabelle, killing a senior Kharijite leader responsible for orchestrating mortar attacks in Mogadishu since 2023. All militant guards at the site were also killed.
The operation followed extended surveillance and intelligence verification.
In a parallel offensive, six precision airstrikes were conducted in the Ceel-Hareeri area of Hiran region from afternoon through the night, eliminating 46 Kharijite militants, including key leaders.
The Federal Government of Somalia continues to intensify its military campaign to dismantle Kharijite networks and restore stability across liberated regions.
