ADALE (SONNA) – The National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (NIEBC) of Somalia has officially launched the voter registration campaign in Adale district, located in the Middle Shabelle region of Hirshabelle State.
The formal inauguration of the registration drive was attended by officials from the NIEBC, alongside key regional and local leaders. Among the dignitaries present were Mr. Geedi Oomane, a Member of the Hirshabelle State Parliament, and other officials representing the regional administration.
The District Commissioner of Adale was also in attendance to mark the commencement of this crucial electoral process in the region.
NIEBC officials present in Adale, in collaboration with the district administration, issued a strong public appeal to the residents of the town and its surrounding areas. They called on all eligible citizens to come forward and participate in the registration process.
The authorities emphasized that registration is the essential first step to enable citizens to exercise their constitutional right to vote in the upcoming elections. This drive represents a significant move towards preparing the region for its democratic future.
