Mogadishu, SONNA – The Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, H.E. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), today received Somali international boxing champion Ramla Said Ahmed Ali also known as Ramla Ali and awarded her a Medal of Honor in recognition of her achievements on the global stage.
Ramla Ali, who has been in Mogadishu for the past few days, was recently awarded a Medal of Honor by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia for her outstanding representation of the Somali name in international arenas and for showcasing the talent and resilience of Somali women.
Mayor Muungaab praised her accomplishments, noting that her victories have brought pride to the nation and inspired young athletes, especially women. He further affirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting sports, encouraging Somali athletes, and promoting Somalia’s participation in all levels of the Olympic movement.
