Mogadishu, Somalia – The Federal Government of Somalia has launched the first health insurance service in the capital city, aiming to provide affordable and accessible health care to its citizens.

The launch ceremony, held on Friday, was attended by government officials, bank representatives, hospital managers, and scholars. They praised the initiative as a milestone for the development and welfare of the Somali people.

The health insurance service, called Baraka Aaliye Care, is run by a private company that has partnered with several hospitals and clinics in Mogadishu. The service offers different packages of coverage, ranging from basic to comprehensive, depending on the needs and budget of the customers.

According to the head of Baraka Aaliye Care, Sakariya Ibrahim, the service is very cheap and easy to join. He said that anyone can become a member of Baraka Aaliye Care.

The Minister of Health, Ali Haji, said that the health insurance service is a great opportunity for the Somali people to access quality health care and prevent diseases. He also said that the government will support and regulate the service to ensure its sustainability and transparency.

The Minister of Youth, Mohamed Abdi Barre, said that the health insurance service is especially beneficial for the young generation, who are the future of the country. He urged the youth to enroll in the service and take care of their health.

The Senator, Osman Haji Mohamud Dufle, said that the health insurance service is a sign of the progress and stability that Somalia has achieved in recent years. He said that the service will also contribute to the economic growth and social cohesion of the country.

The launch of the health insurance service in Mogadishu is part of the government’s efforts to improve the health sector and the living standards of the Somali people. The government plans to expand the service to other regions and cities in the near future.
