Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Security of the capital city of Somalia, Mogadishu is now safer than ever as the security forces succeeded in keeping the peace and prosperity, and carrying our operations regularly ensures the public of the high priority of Mogadishu’s security.

The people of the capital feel a calm atmosphere after the security agencies dealt with the robbery and violence in Mogadishu, while the people living in the districts around the city are very happy with the regular activities of the security agencies.

The Commander of the Somali Police’s Rapid Force, Major General Suleiman Mohamed Ahmed (Dulmi-deed) visited the Somali Forces in their base, urging them to redouble their work for the Somali people.

On the other hand, some people who spoke to the SONNA news agency said that the security agencies stopped the thieves who used to rob their phones, noting that now they feel a stable environment that is different from the old one in Mogadishu.

People in the capital used to fear going home late due to thieves who called themselves Ciyaal Weero, coming out in the evenings and waiting till dark to loot the people and sometimes, cause of serious injuries and deaths were reported to the authorities.

Soon after the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, HE Hassan Sheikh Mohamud brought in MPs (Military Police) to deal with the thugs and keep the capital safe, everything changed and people now have the luxury of staying out late, having fun with friends and going home without the fear for their lives or their property.

Mogadishu is now safer than ever and more secure because the security forces have increased their activities and operations in the districts, sometimes blocking an entire area to conduct a quick search and move to the next.
