Ceelmacaan (SONNA) – A high-level event showcasing the modern urban design and settlement plan for the Mindhob neighborhood was held in Ceelmacaan area of Warsheikh district, highlighting a new step toward organized urban expansion under the “New Mogadishu” initiative.
The event, organized by Dhulbeer Company — the firm leading the planning and construction of the neighborhood — brought together district officials, religious scholars, business leaders, youth representatives, and members of the Somali diaspora.
Sheikh Mohamed Osman, one of the leaders of Dhulbeer Company, opened the event by outlining the company’s vision to establish a modern residential community equipped with sustainable infrastructure and long-term development plans aimed at transforming the area into a thriving urban center.
Engineer Hassan, a land and urban planning expert, presented detailed plans of the neighborhood’s structural layout and modern development framework, emphasizing organized land use and contemporary infrastructure standards.
Speaking at the gathering, prominent Somali scholar Sheikh Abdihakin Sheikh Ali Suufi announced plans to establish a large modern Islamic center in the Mindhob neighborhood, which will serve as a hub for the teaching and promotion of Islamic studies for the Somali community.
Several members of the Somali diaspora attending the event expressed admiration for the development project and pledged their readiness to invest in the neighborhood, citing confidence in the area’s future growth potential.
Concluding the event, Warsheikh District Commissioner Mohamed Hassan Mataan highlighted the ongoing development taking place in the area and called on Somali businesspeople and diaspora communities to invest in their country and contribute to its reconstruction and economic progress.
