Baidoa, (SONNA) — The Minister of Defense, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, and Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ali Yusuf Ali (Hoosh), have conducted an official visit to parts of Baidoa, where they assessed security conditions and ongoing stabilization efforts.
During their visit, the ministers met with local residents and officials from the South West State administration, reviewing progress made in maintaining peace and strengthening security. The visit underscores the Federal Government’s continued commitment to enhancing security, building public trust, and reinforcing cooperation between the state and communities.
While in Baidoa, both ministers emphasized the importance of linking security efforts with community engagement, noting that sustainable peace can only be achieved through close collaboration between citizens and security institutions. They highlighted the critical role of the public as the backbone of national security, particularly in preventing and countering threats.
The ministers also commended the people of Baidoa for their active role in peacebuilding and efforts against terrorism, reaffirming the government’s determination to intensify operations against militant groups and further strengthen cooperation between civilians and the armed forces.
