Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Youth and Sports of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Mohamed Abdulkadir Ali, together with the President of the Somali Football Federation (SFF) officially welcomed African football legends Samuel Eto’o, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Jay-Jay Okocha upon their arrival at Aden Adde International Airport.

The visit marks a major moment in Somalia’s sporting revival, as the renowned players are set to participate in a high-profile exhibition match taking place today at Mogadishu Stadium. The match will feature two teams: one representing Somali national players and sports legends, and the other composed of foreign-based players and international guests.

The legendary athletes are accompanied by senior officials from the Confederation of African Football (CAF), underscoring the growing international recognition of Somalia’s efforts to promote peace and development through sport.

The Ministry of Sports has urged fans to arrive early and follow security procedures, as the event is expected to send a powerful message about Somalia’s progress in stability and global engagement through sports.
