Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Mahmoud Abdirahman Sheikh Farah (Beenebeene), today held a productive meeting with the UNFPA Representative in Somalia, Dr. Mary Otieno.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the Ministry and UNFPA, particularly in the areas of development planning, project coordination, and the monitoring and evaluation of various programs.
Both sides discussed ways to ensure that all ongoing and planned projects and programs are fully aligned with Somalia’s National Transformation Plan (NTP) and the UNFPA Country Programme Document, with a strong emphasis on transparency, accountability, and sustainable impact.
Minister Beenebeene and Dr. Otieno reaffirmed their shared commitment to enhancing collaboration and sustained partnership between the Ministry and UNFPA, aimed at accelerating the achievement of joint development goals, improving social outcomes, and strengthening the delivery of essential services across the country.
