Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Hassan Moallim Mohamud, held a meeting with Somali women’s civil society organisations to discuss key national issues, including the constitutional review process, elections, and women’s role in state-building.
During the meeting, the minister provided an update on efforts to strengthen state institutions, the progress of judicial reforms, and the ongoing constitutional review process. He emphasized that Somalia is entering a pivotal new phase in its history, where citizens are taking full ownership of shaping the country’s future.
The women’s groups pledged their support for implementing a one-person, one-vote electoral system, committing to actively participate in raising public awareness. The minister encouraged unity and collaboration among citizens and civil society organisations to overcome transitional challenges and bolster Somalia’s state-building and development efforts.
