Kampala, (SONNA) – The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Moallim Mahmoud, today attended the official opening of the 63rd Annual Session of the Asian–African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) in Kampala, Uganda.
The Minister, leading Somalia’s delegation, was accompanied by Somalia’s Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Fardowsa Mohamed Qanyare. The four-day conference brings together member states to deliberate on key international legal matters.
Discussions will cover a wide range of issues, including the work of the International Law Commission, the law of the sea, environment and sustainable development, international law in cyberspace, legal aspects of outer space, and refugee protection.
The session provides a vital platform to strengthen legal and diplomatic cooperation between African and Asian countries, with Somalia playing an active role in shaping debates and decisions on international legal affairs.
