Islamabad, (SONNA) — The Minister of Internal Affairs, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hon. Ali Yusuf Ali (Hosh), accompanied by a high-level delegation, has arrived in Pakistan on an official working visit.
During their stay, the Somali delegation is scheduled to hold meetings with senior Pakistani government officials to discuss bilateral cooperation between Somalia and Pakistan. Key areas of engagement include national identification and civil registration systems, electoral processes, democracy and governance, as well as humanitarian assistance and disaster response.
Upon arrival in the capital, Islamabad, the delegation was formally received by officials from the Government of Pakistan, along with Somalia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Sheikh Noor Mohamed Hassan.
The delegation includes the Chairperson of the National Independent Electoral Commission (NIEC), Mr. Abdikarim Ahmed Hassan; the Director General of the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA), Mr. Abdiwali Timacadde; the Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), Mr. Mahmoud Moallin; and the Deputy Commander of the Somali Police Force, Brigadier General Osman Abdullahi Kaniif.
The visit is part of Somalia’s broader efforts to strengthen institutional capacity, enhance democratic processes, and deepen strategic cooperation with international partners.
