Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Daud Aweis Jama received in his office the Special Representative of the African Union and ATMIS Mission Ambassador Souef Mohamed El-Amine.
The Minister and the representative of the African Union discussed security issues, especially military operations against the Khawarij Al-Shabab, the meeting of the National Consultative Council that was recently concluded in Mogadishu, stabilisation and reconciliation programs and other issues.
The Minister informed the representative of the African Union about the achievements of the Somali National Army with the help of the locals in the war to eradicate the terrorists and the government’s program of broadcasting operations against terrorism.
The minister also informed the African Union envoy about the political development of the country and the results of the meeting of the National Consultative Council in Mogadishu between the leaders of the Federal Government of Somalia and the leaders of the Federal Member States of Somalia.
The representative of the African Union in Somalia, Dr. Souef El-Amine welcomed the achievements of the Somali government in the war against Al-Shabab, political consultations and reconciliation efforts in the country.
Both parties agreed to strengthen cooperation and collaboration between Somalia and ATMIS.
