MOGADISHU (SONNA) — The Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Daud Aweis Jama, officially closed a high-level one-day workshop on Wednesday dedicated to establishing robust procedures for government communication during national emergencies.
The seminar brought together various officials responsible for communications and media across government institutions. The sessions featured practical exercises, case studies, and crisis simulations designed to test and improve the coordination of official information channels during critical situations.
In his closing remarks, Minister Daud Aweis emphasized that the Federal Government has prioritized the unification of its messaging strategy. He stressed the imperative of delivering rapid, accurate, and timely information to the public. The Minister noted that a cohesive communication strategy is the most effective tool to neutralize the misinformation and fabrication campaigns often propagated by the Khawaarij and other extremist entities.
The closing ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants. The awards were presented jointly by Minister Daud Aweis and the State Minister of Defense, H.E. Omar Ali Abdi, acknowledging the attendees’ commitment to enhancing the nation’s strategic communication capabilities.
