Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Federal Government of Somalia, Dr. Ali Haji, has announced significant strides in the country’s healthcare infrastructure during the National Press Week forum. He revealed that the Federal Government has successfully rehabilitated eight hospitals in Mogadishu and other federal member states.
The Minister further stated that six new hospitals are currently under construction in districts administered by federal member states. These new facilities aim to bring essential medical services closer to communities, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for treatment.
Dr. Ali Haji also confirmed the hiring of qualified and dedicated medical professionals, adding that Banadir and Martini hospitals have been equipped with essential tools to help monitor and manage common diseases more effectively.
He emphasized the government’s continued oversight of private health institutions and highlighted the strong collaborative relationship maintained between the Ministry of Health and privately operated hospitals.
