Mogadishu, (SONNA) – Somalia’s Minister of Finance, Biixi Imaan Cige, held a productive meeting with a European Union (EU) delegation led by the EU Ambassador to Somalia, Ms. Karin Johansson, alongside senior officials from the organization’s Somalia office.
The discussions focused on reviewing the EU’s budgetary support to the Somali government, with the first phase of the funding nearing completion. Both sides also deliberated on future financial assistance, which is set to continue until 2027.
The EU remains one of Somalia’s key international partners, consistently contributing to the country’s development projects and financial stability.
