Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Family and Human Rights Development of the Federal Government of Somalia, Amb. Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi, today hosted a high-level delegation from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), led by Acting Special Representative Mr. Kareem Adebayo, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Mogadishu.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the Ministry and AUSSOM, particularly in advancing women’s rights and promoting human rights across the country.
Mr. Adebayo commended the significant progress made in establishing Somalia’s Independent National Human Rights Commission (NIHRC) and reaffirmed the AU’s full support to the Ministry in achieving sustainable, rights-based development.
Minister Al-Makhzoumi expressed her gratitude to Mr. Adebayo and the African Union for their continued support, emphasizing the importance of effective partnerships in reinforcing the protection and promotion of human rights in Somalia.
