Baku, (SONNA) – The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Khadija Mohamed Al-Makhzoumi and a delegation she led participated in the COP29 conference which was held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Minister Khadija had sideline meetings with leaders who attended the conference and discussed important issues of common interest.
Somalia hopes to take advantage of the opportunities of the COP29 conference, to gain international support for its plans to deal with climate change and to present its efforts to deal with the climate challenges affecting our country.
The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of Somalia told the national media that she hopes that great success will come from the conference, especially in the areas of international cooperation and getting enough funding to solve climate challenges.
The Minister was accompanied by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan and Türkiye and the Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) and other officials to represent Somalia in the conference in Baku.
