Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Abdulqadir Mohamed Nour, hosted a meeting at the Ministry of Defense with the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Somalia, James Swan. The discussion focused on ongoing operations against Al-Shabaab militants and the role of AUSSOM in peace and security efforts in the country.
The meeting emphasized the critical importance of international partners in strengthening the capabilities of the Somali National Army. Both officials reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to ensuring security and stability in the region, highlighting collaborative efforts to combat terrorism and enhance national resilience.
