Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Abdikadir Mohamed Nur (Jama) had a meeting with the Ambassador of Switzerland, Amb. Valentin Zellweger.
The Minister and the Ambassador discussed the role Switzerland could play as a member of the Security Council in supporting Somalia’s bid in lifting the arms embargo.
Somalia is under this sanctions for almost 3 decades and the lifting it is vital to the ongoing liberation efforts in the country. Somalia is keen to work with partners in ensuring the full lifting of the arms embargo. We are keen to strengthen our partnership with Switzerland in enhancing peace and security.
