MOGADISHU (SONNA) – The Minister of Communications and Technology of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Adan Maalim, held a high-level meeting with senior executives from the country’s telecommunications companies on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
The meeting, which took place at the ministry’s headquarters in Mogadishu, focused on strategies for developing the quality of communication services in Somalia and strengthening the strategic cooperation between the government and the private sector.
Attended by the Director-General of the Ministry and senior officials representing the telecom providers, the discussion provided a comprehensive platform to analyze the various stages of development the nation’s telecommunications service has undergone. Participants also addressed current challenges and explored Somalia’s overarching vision for advancing its communications infrastructure and digital future.
Minister Mohamed Adan Maalim affirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to the digitalization of the country. He outlined the strategy of building a modern framework to accelerate the development of communications and technology, ensuring that the public benefits from reliable, state-of-the-art services.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to the telecommunications companies for their visible and significant role in the sector’s growth and in maintaining essential connectivity for the Somali people.
On their part, the officials from the telecommunications companies welcomed the dedicated efforts and leadership of the Ministry. They commended the Ministry for its role in regulating the sector and actively working to improve the quality of technology services available in the country.
