Mogadishu, Somalia – In an another move towards urban development, the governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Mr. Yusuf Hussein Jimale (Madaale), has officially initiated the construction of the Via Uganda road. This pivotal project aims to connect Dabka with the Port of Mogadishu, facilitating smoother transit and efficient transportation of goods.
The foundation stone-laying ceremony was marked by the presence of esteemed officials including the Deputy Governor of Security and Politics, the Deputy Governor of General Affairs of Banadir Region, and the District commissioners of Wabari and Hamar Jajab Districts.
Expressing his vision for the city’s progress, Mayor Jimale emphasized the importance of ongoing road construction projects for the capital’s growth. “The Via Uganda road is more than just a pathway; it’s a lifeline for the community and a channel for commerce,” stated Mayor Jimale. “This development is a testament to our commitment to enhancing the city’s infrastructure and boosting economic activity.”
