KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait has issued an official statement affirming the nation’s absolute support for the sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Somalia over all its territories. In a declaration released on Saturday, the Ministry expressed Kuwait’s formal rejection of the recently announced mutual recognition between the Israeli occupation authorities and the Somaliland region.
The Ministry characterized the announcement as a “unilateral measure” that stands in direct contradiction to international law. By engaging with the breakaway region as a sovereign entity, the statement argued, the Israeli authorities are violating the legal frameworks that protect the territorial integrity of independent nations. Kuwait reiterated that such actions are legally void and detrimental to the stability of the legal order governing state relations.
In its statement, Kuwait renewed its firm opposition to this approach, describing it as an attempt to undermine the sovereignty of the brotherly Federal Republic of Somalia. The Ministry pledged the State of Kuwait’s “full support” for the legitimate institutions of the Somali government, emphasizing that the preservation of Mogadishu’s authority is essential for maintaining order and unity within the country. The government made clear that it rejects any policies that weaken the central state or encourage fragmentation.
This position aligns Kuwait with the broader consensus among Arab and Gulf nations, reinforcing the diplomatic shield around Somalia. The statement serves as a message of solidarity to the Somali people, ensuring them that Kuwait stands by their side in defending their national unity against external diplomatic maneuvers that seek to legitimize separatism and bypass the Federal Government.
