Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, Gen. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag), met with the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia, Ambassador James Swan.
The discussions focused on security issues and cooperation between UN agencies and the Ministry of Security, particularly progress in securing the capital, training of the Darwish forces, advancing the second phase of the JPP program, and preventing child recruitment.
Minister Gen. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail thanked the ambassador for the continued support provided to Somalia’s security institutions, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation to achieve tangible progress and consolidate the gains made.
For his part, Ambassador James Swan reaffirmed that they will continue supporting and cooperating with Somalia’s security institutions, especially in priority areas such as the capital’s security and the implementation of programs that enhance the country’s security institutions.
