MOGADISHU, Somalia – The Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, addressed a high-level meeting of the Immigration Agency today, where he provided a comprehensive assessment of the nation’s security landscape. During his remarks, the Minister emphasized that the capital city of Mogadishu is currently enjoying an unprecedented level of safety and stability.
Minister Fartaag observed that the country is witnessing clear and positive indicators of recovery. He noted that the Federal Government has dedicated substantial resources to restoring peace and enhancing the capacity of state agencies responsible for public safety and service delivery to the Somali people.
The Minister acknowledged the visible signs of national progress, stating that the government remains fully focused on stabilizing the nation and eliminating the threat posed by terrorist groups. He reaffirmed the commitment to liberating the remaining pockets of the country from extremist influence.
“There is no day that Mogadishu has been safer than it is today,” Minister Fartaag declared. He added that the security forces have successfully dislodged the Khawarij militants from vast areas of the country, significantly reducing their ability to threaten the population and paving the way for sustained development.
