Baidoa, (SONNA) – The Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, General Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag), received a detailed security briefing today from police commanders of the South West State of Somalia during his official visit to Baidoa.
The briefing focused on key security issues across the region, including:
- The overall security situation in South West State
- Ongoing operations against Al-Shabaab militants
- Protection of critical roads and government installations
- Community awareness campaigns and crime prevention efforts
Minister Fartaag praised the police leadership for their continued efforts in maintaining law and order and protecting civilians. He emphasized the importance of strong coordination between the Federal Government and Federal Member States as essential to building long-term stability and security in the country.
“The dedication of South West police forces is commendable,” said Minister Fartaag. “It is only through unity and cooperation that we can secure lasting peace.”
He concluded by reaffirming the Federal Ministry of Internal Security’s commitment to strengthening its support to security agencies, particularly through the provision of equipment, advanced training, and morale-building initiatives.
