Mogadishu, (SONNA) – Somalia’s Immigration and Citizenship Agency (ICA) has officially opened its third passport issuance center in Dayniile District, Banadir Region, as part of an ongoing effort to decentralise public services and improve citizen access.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Minister of Internal Security, Hon. Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag), members of the Federal Parliament, senior officials from ICA, district commissioners from Dayniile and Hawl-Wadaag, and representatives from local communities.
Speaking at the event, ICA Director General Mr. Mustafa Duhulow stated that the new center is part of the agency’s broader strategy to expand passport services, ensuring quicker and more accessible processing for Somali citizens while easing pressure on existing facilities in Mogadishu.
Minister Fartaag praised the initiative as a clear example of improved governance and effective service delivery, commending ICA leadership and staff for their commitment to bringing essential travel and identification services closer to the people.
