Mogadishu 19 December 2020, The Federal Government of Somalia is closely monitoring the military mobilisation by the Government of Kenya in Mandera area. More explicitly, it is hosting a militia and is illegally arming and equipping them with the aim to destabilize Somalia.
The Federal Government of Somalia has learnt the Government of Kenya has armed and deployed militias in Mandera with the intent to attack Beled Hawo and Somali
National Army bases located in Somalia.
The Federal Government of Somalia warns the Government of Kenya of its aggression and illegal actions in the Federal Republic of Somalia which can undermine the stability of the Horn of Africa region. It reiterates once again that the blatant interferences in the internal affairs of Somalia can potentially create instability as well as affect the security of the region.
The Federal Government of Somalia will take all necessary steps to ensure political independence, territorial integrity, and the protection of the dignity and honour of the
people of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
