Addis Ababa, (SONNA) – The Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), H.E. Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, extends his warm congratulations to H.E. Mahamoud Ali Youssouf of the Republic of Djibouti on his election as the Chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC) for the 2025–2029 term.
This election comes at a defining moment for the continent as a Member State candidate assumes leadership of the AU Commission, guiding Africa’s collective development agenda forward.
