Mogadishu, SONNA – A delegation led by the Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu, arrived in Mogadishu today for official meetings with the leadership of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
Dr. Workneh is scheduled to meet with President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi.
The discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation between Somalia and IGAD, with an emphasis on regional security, climate change, food security, peace, and the empowerment of women and youth to support development initiatives across the Horn of Africa.
