Mogadishu, SONNA – Hodan District in Banadir Region has secured a place in the second round of the State Media’s annual Ramadan Quiz Competition after defeating Hamar-weyn District with a score of 12 points to 6.
The victory reflects Hodan’s strong performance in the closely followed knowledge-based contest, which continues to attract nationwide attention during the holy month of Ramadan.
Now in its sixteenth year, the annual Ramadan Quiz Competition has become one of the flagship programs of Somali State Media. This year’s edition is jointly supported by IBS Bank and the Banadir Regional Administration.
Each year, 32 districts from across Somalia participate in the competition, showcasing the academic excellence and general knowledge of young contestants. The winning district is awarded trophies, cash prizes, and certificates recognizing the intellectual achievements of the country’s new generation.
The competition is broadcast nightly on Somali National Television and aired live across the country. It is also transmitted through Radio Mogadishu, ensuring broad public access and engagement.
The Ramadan Quiz Competition continues to serve as an important platform for fostering unity, learning, and positive youth participation throughout Somalia.
