Jowhar, (SONNA):- The Conference of Authorities, Regions and Districts, which aimed to decentralize the governance process in Hirshabelle State, ended on Tuesday with a closing ceremony attended by the state president, his deputy, and other officials.
Mr. Ali Gudlawe Hussein, the President of Hirshabelle State, praised the participants for their constructive discussions and recommendations on how to improve the delivery of public services and enhance the security and stability of the state.
He also reiterated his commitment to continue the fight against the Khawarij, a term used to refer to the militant group Al-Shabaab, until they are eradicated from the entire territory of Hirshabelle.
He said that the next phase of the state’s development plan is to focus on the western regions, where he said there are many opportunities and challenges.
The conference, which lasted for four days in Jowhar, the capital of Hirshabelle State, brought together representatives from the state authorities, regions, and districts, as well as civil society and traditional leaders.
The conference was part of the state’s efforts to implement the federal system of governance in Somalia, which grants more autonomy and responsibility to the regional states.
