Mogadishu, (SONNA) – A significant military operation targeting Al-Shabaab militants occurred last night in the town of Ceelbuur, Galgaduud region. The operation specifically aimed at a residence associated with a local leader known as Yaxye Laba Madax, who is linked to the group.
Carried out by local residents, the operation took place at the leader’s house, located near the town’s security base. The assault resulted in substantial losses for the Al-Shabaab militants, including both fatalities and injuries. Following the attack, the militants retaliated by executing members within their ranks whom they suspected were involved in the operation.
Today, tensions are high in Ceelbuur as rival factions of Al-Shabaab leaders and militants confront each other. Reports indicate that Yaxye Laba Madax may have sustained serious injuries during the operation, contributing to the escalating conflict within the group in the region.
