Governor of Banadir Region: “New Mogadishu Initiative is Key to the Country’s Development”

Mogadishu, (SONNA): During a historic event, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, His Excellency Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, inaugurated the New Mogadishu Development Initiative and the construction of the New Airport in Mogadishu.

Speaking at the forum, the Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, His Worship, Mohamed Ahmed Amiir, emphasized the monumental importance of this initiative for the entire nation.

Governor Amiir highlighted that the New Mogadishu initiative represents the hope and aspiration of the Somali people, fostering international investment, enhancing Somalia’s global relations, and driving the growth of the national economy.

The Mayor also articulated his vision for the Banadir Region and the capital city, Mogadishu, as a safe, clean, and vibrant place with ample job opportunities for youth. He emphasized that this development marks the beginning of a transformative journey for the capital, aiming to significantly improve the quality of life for its residents.

Governor Amiir’s remarks resonated with the audience, painting a hopeful and progressive picture of Mogadishu’s future under the New Mogadishu initiative.
