Mogadishu, Somalia (SONNA) – The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Amb. Khadija Mohamed Almakhzoumi, and the Minister of Livestock, Hassan Hussein Mohamedbaya, attended the official opening of the international COP16 conference in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Somalia is committed to supporting international efforts to address the challenges of climate change and focuses on strengthening environmental resilience to ensure a sustainable and inclusive future. The #COP16 Conference presents a significant opportunity for Somalia to showcase its dedication to environmental issues and to enhance international cooperation in combating climate change.
For the first time, Somalia will host the #COP16 Conference in Ardaa, marking a milestone in the country’s environmental initiatives and its role in global climate action.
