Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Commander of the 1st Battalion of Gorgor Commandos, Lt. Col. Saahid Jama Farah (Jareere), accompanied by Capt. Abshir Guutaale from the Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF), visited frontline positions in Middle Shabelle region to inspect and encourage troops engaged in operations against Al-Shabaab.
They were received by Lt. Col. Cosoble Ali Nur, Commander of the 19th Battalion of Gorgor Commandos, who briefed them on the progress of ongoing operations aimed at eliminating the extremist group.
Lt. Col. Jareere urged the soldiers to intensify their pursuit of Al-Shabaab in order to restore peace and stability for Somali civilians suffering under terrorism.
Troops of the 19th Battalion of Gorgor Commandos have recently carried out successful operations under the campaign “Silent Storm,” liberating several areas and towns in Middle Shabelle.
