SNBS Reviews Preparations for Somalia’s MICS7 Main Survey with Federal Member States

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — Somalia National Bureau of Statistics convened a coordination meeting in Mogadishu to review preparations for implementation of MICS7 Somalia Main Survey. The meeting brought together Directors General and Directors of Statistics from Federal Member States to strengthen collaboration & align implementation plans ahead of fieldwork.
The meeting was opened by SNBS Deputy Director General, Mr. Abdirahman Omar, who underscored importance of the Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS7) in producing reliable and timely data to support evidence-based policymaking, planning and monitoring. Participants reaffirmed commitment towards successful implementation of the survey countryside.
Technical sessions provided updates on survey implementation plan, operational arrangements, progress in household listing, recruitment of enumerators and supervisors, fieldwork timelines, logistics, supervision and data quality assurance measures.
The meeting concluded with agreement on key action points and a roadmap for the rollout of MICS7 Main Survey. SNBS appreciates the collaboration and commitment of Federal Member State counterparts as Somalia advances production of high-quality official statistics to inform national development planning and improve the well-being of its people.
