Minister of Information Visits Somali Embassy in Baku

Baku, (SONNA) — The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdifatah Qasim Mohamud, visited the Somali Embassy in Baku, where he was received by Somalia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Abdinoor Dahir Fidow, and embassy diplomats.

The Minister toured the embassy’s offices and work areas, including a section displaying photographs and visual materials showcasing Somalia’s history, culture, heritage and national identity.

Ambassador Fidow briefed the Minister on the embassy’s diplomatic activities and efforts to strengthen relations and cooperation between Somalia and Azerbaijan.

Minister Abdifatah commended the Ambassador’s efforts to represent Somalia, safeguard the country’s interests and strengthen bilateral diplomatic relations.

He also emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation between the two countries, promoting understanding between their peoples and enhancing Somalia’s national image and interests.

Ambassador Fidow is Somalia’s first resident ambassador to Azerbaijan and has contributed to strengthening bilateral cooperation, including efforts to secure educational opportunities for Somali students at universities in Azerbaijan.
