President Hassan Sheikh Attends Djibouti’s 49th Independence Anniversary Celebrations

Djibouti, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, attended the 49th anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Djibouti’s independence at the special invitation of his brother, H.E. President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh.

President Hassan Sheikh congratulated the Government and the people of the Republic of Djibouti on the historic occasion and conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the people of Somalia to President Guelleh.

The Somali President reaffirmed the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Somalia and Djibouti, underscoring the importance of strengthening the longstanding partnership and cooperation between the two neighboring nations for the benefit of their peoples and the wider Horn of Africa region.
