Mogadishu, (SONNA): A planned operation carried out by the Galmudug State Darawish forces, specifically the Galayr Battalion, targeted a hideout used by the Al-Shabaab militants in the Ceelahelay area of Galgaduud region.
Commanders leading the operation told the Somali National News Agency that the bodies of at least seven militants were found at the scene, and that the forces are continuing to pursue those who fled.
Due to the nighttime conditions, officials said the full extent of casualties inflicted on the militants could not yet be confirmed. However, they believe the number of dead and wounded terrorists is higher than what was initially observed on the ground.
The commanders pledged that a comprehensive report on the operation will be shared with the public once assessments are complete.
