GALKAYO (SONNA) Galmudug and Puntland police forces have carried out a major check-up rounds in the north and south of Galkayo, the regional capital of Mudug region.
Police in both administrations have been conducting searches in targeted areas, as well as conducting interviews to the public, especially youths.
The operation, led by Mudug, Galmudug and Puntland Deputy Police Chiefs Mohamed Hassan Warsame was aimed at ensuring security status in the city.
Police officials also said that they are willing to prevent any suspicious act that will risks the safety of the residents in North and South Galkayo.
Officials urged people living in the central Galmudug and Puntland to cooperate with the police to combat insecurity during the month of Ramadan.
