Funeral Service made for Abdiaziz Africa, Radio Mogadishu Director killed in Suicide attack

Mogadishu(SONNA)-National Funeral Service has on Sunday been made for the Director of Radio Mogadishu, Abdiaziz Mohamud Guled ‘Africa’ who was killed in a suicide bomb attack at a restaurant in the Somali capital Mogadishu.

State TV Director, Sharma’arke Mohamed Warsame and his Driver, Abdukadir Dhagahow were also seriously injured in the suicide attack in which terrorist militant wearing explosive jacket blew up himself.

Somali Prime Minister, Mohamed Hussein Roble, Information Minister, Osman Abukar Dubbe and other Ministers, scholars and journalists and members of the families and friends of the deceased director, Africa attended the funeral prayer held at State house today.

Abdiaziz Africa was working for both radio and television for more than a decade, airing hot programs against the terrorist militant group of Al-Shabaab.

” Tonight we lost the Director of Radio Muqdisho, the State Radio Mr. AbdiAziz Afrika. He was a great patriot, media anchor and AS critic. We lost a wonderful colleague and true friend. I am passing my condolences to his family, friends, and all Somali media. RIP Abdiaziz Afrika”, Minister of Information of Somalia, Osman Abukar Dubbe said on Twitter hours after the death of the late Director, Africa.

Somali Prime Minister, Mohamed Hussein Roble strongly condemned the attack on Government media staff and shared heartfelt condolence to the families, friends and the Somali people over the death of Abdiaziz Africa.

” I can’t measure how shocking it was for me about the death of my colleague and Director of Radio Mogadishu, Abdiaziz Mohamud Guled Africa. To lose such important figure is heavy loss. I was close to the scene of bomb attack and saw some of my colleagues who were dead and injured”, Abdullahi Mohamed Amin, State TV Editor said on Facebook post.
