Baidoa, (SONNA) – Four members of the Al-Shabaab militant group have surrendered to security forces operating in Baidoa, Bay region.
According to the defectors, they had previously joined the extremist group in the regions of Bay, Bakool, and Jubbaland, actively participating in battles before deciding to abandon the militants.
Authorities have welcomed the surrender, emphasizing ongoing efforts to encourage defections and weaken the group’s operational capacity.
