Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Federal Minister of Finance, Hon. Bihi Iman Egeh, has been named Africa’s Finance Minister of the Year 2025 by African Leadership Magazine, following an online voting process.
The competition featured finance ministers from Somalia, Senegal, South Sudan, Egypt, and Zimbabwe. Somalia emerged as the winner, a result that reflects the strong presence and influence of the Somali public on social media. The award also highlights Minister Egeh’s effective leadership in driving financial reforms, advancing debt relief, and promoting economic transparency in Somalia.
Minister Egeh is scheduled to be formally recognized at the African Business Leadership Awards (ABLA) during the upcoming Africa Summit London 2025 in July.
Meanwhile, officials from the Ministry of Finance — including State Minister Raaxo Janaqoow, Deputy Minister Cabdiqafaar Elmi Xaange, and the entire staff of the ministry — have extended their congratulations to Minister Bihi Iman Egeh on this achievement.
