Baidoa(SONNA)-The Speaker of the House of the People, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur (Madoobe) held a high-level meeting with Somali National Army commanders in Baidoa to assess the security situation and support ongoing stabilization efforts following recent political developments in South West State.
The discussions focused on strengthening security in the city and surrounding areas after the transition that followed the departure of former regional president Abdiaziz Mohamed Hassan Laftagareen.
Military officials briefed the Speaker on successful operations that secured the key road linking Mogadishu and Baidoa, previously threatened by Al-Shabaab militants.
Speaker Madoobe commended the armed forces for their role in restoring stability and emphasized the need to accelerate security operations to ensure lasting peace in the region.
