1- President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has received the letters of credence of the new ambassadors to Ethiopia, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mexico, Venezuela, Korea, Mauritania, and Iraq.
2- President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has appointed Ambassador Aweys Xaji Yusuf to be the National Security Advisor of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
3- Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre has appointed Mr. Osman Cali Farah to be the First (Deputy Director-General) of Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu.
4- Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama met with the new British Ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Charles Nicholas King, and they discussed enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
5- The Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Court held a joint meeting to address challenges facing the country’s prisons, such as overcrowding and inmate safety concerns.
6- Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali has met the new Special Representative of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission for Somalia and Head of the African Union Stabilization and Support Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), Ambassador El Hadji Ibrahima Diene.
7- The Somalia Humanitarian Platform Conference, organized by SoDMA in coordination with the Southwest Ministry of Relief and Disaster Management, concluded in Baidoa.
8- Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General and UN Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator for Somalia, Mr. George Conwey, said that Somalia’s humanitarian situation requires urgent, large-scale relief.
9- A crucial meeting in Mogadishu between the Immigration and Citizenship Authority and the National Identity and Registration Authority (NIRA) discussed harmonizing services and plans related to the national identity card.
10- The Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, Mahmud Sheikh Farah Beenebeene, held a fruitful meeting with Ambassador Karin Johansson, the European Union Ambassador to Somalia.
11- Defense Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi met with the European Union Ambassador to Somalia, Karin Johansson, to discuss defense, security, and Europe’s support for Somalia.
12- Somali National Army and Ugandan Defense Forces delivered a strong blow to Al-Shabab terrorists in a battle in Bariire, Lower Shabelle region, killing more than 70 militants.
13- A major fire caused substantial financial losses at Suuq Bacaad, the second-largest market in Mogadishu.
14- Finance Minister Bihi Iman Ige met with the British Ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Charles King, to discuss the financial relations between the two countries.
15- The Director-General of the Immigration and Citizenship Authority, Mustafa Sheikh Ali Dhuhulow, has formally signed important procedures to improve the services the agency provides to the Somali people.
16- Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali has received copies of the letters of credence of ambassadors from Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mexico, Venezuela, Korea, Mauritania, and Iraq.
17- The Governor of Banaadir and Mayor of Mogadishu, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), delivered a total grant of $200,000 to the drought-relief committee in the Awdal region of northern Somalia.
18- The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Somalia in India welcomed ten diplomats from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia who were on a work visit to New Delhi.
19- The Governor of Banaadir and Mayor of Mogadishu, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Xuseen (Muungaab), appointed Mohamed Aden Afrah as Director of the Department of Labor and Workforce of the Banaadir Administration and Mogadishu Local Government.
20- Deputy Finance Minister Abdighafar Elmi Hange participated in the African Ministers of Finance meeting in Bangui, Central African Republic, to discuss economic development and climate-change resilience.
21- Officials of the Federal Government of Somalia held consultative meetings in Beled Xaawo, Gedo region, with traditional elders about how the public can cooperate with the recently deployed Somali National Forces in the region.
22- The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation appointed the Monitoring and Approval Commission for the House of Representatives of the newly established Northeast State of Somalia.
23- The Ministry of Ports and Maritime Transport concluded in Mogadishu a workshop on the duties and the general framework for Somalia’s maritime security and addressing sea-based threats.
24- The National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) conducted operations targeting a house where Kharijites leaders were meeting in the Aboorey area of Hiiraan province.
25- Qudama Hamza Yusuf Mohamed aka Yahya, Abdi Hassan Roble aka Afey and Ibrahim Omar Sham’un aka Hubka, all members of Al Shabab, were executed by firing squad after being sentenced to death by the Army Court for murders and terrorist offenses.
