Mogadishu, Friday, 4th July, 2025
1- H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held another round of talks at the Presidential Palace (Villa Somalia) with opposition members to discuss the country’s political future.
2- H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud concluded the celebrations of Independence and Unity Week, marking the 65th anniversary of the unification of Somalia’s regions and the founding of the Somali Republic.
3- During the 65th anniversary celebration of independence and unity, H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud called on the Somali people to strengthen their solidarity, unity, and governance.
4- At the commemoration of July 1st, celebrating 65 years of independence and the union of the North and South regions, H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud laid a wreath at the Daljirka Dahsoon monument in Mogadishu.
5- H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud laid the foundation stone for the construction of the New Mogadishu International Airport in the district of Warshekh, in Middle Shabelle region of HirShabelle State.
6- H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud sent a congratulatory message to the Government and people of Djibouti on the 48th anniversary of their independence.
7- H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud expressed his condolences on the passing of the late Suldaan Abdulkadir Haji Mohamud, who previously served as the Second Vice President of the Jubbaland Federal Member State.
8- H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud appointed Mr. Wali Guuleed Nuur as the new General Manager of the National Press Agency, following a recommendation from the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism.
9- Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre concluded a training program for officers, deputy officers, and units of the Somali National Army’s Gorgor forces, who received various training courses in Turkey and at the Turkish Army Training College (TurkSom) in Mogadishu.
10- The Speaker of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament, Hon. Abdi Hashi Abdullahi, met with the Chinese Ambassador to Somalia to discuss strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations between the two countries.
11- Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre held a farewell meeting with the Swedish Ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Joachim Wern, at the end of his diplomatic tenure in the country.
12- Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Ministry of Fisheries and Blue Economy headquarters.
13- Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre expressed his condolences on the passing of Suldaan Abdulkadir Haji Mohamud, former Second Vice President of Jubbaland.
14- The Cabinet of the Federal Republic of Somalia has approved the members of the Independent Human Rights Commission.

24- The Somali Army conducted an operation in the Guullane area of Middle Shabelle, resulting in the killing of two Kharijites Al Shabab leaders, Ali Habbad and Mohamed Addow, who were influential in orchestrating terrorist acts in the region.
25- Minister of Finance, Bihi Iman Ige, participating in the 4th United Nations Investment Development Conference in Seville, held a special meeting with Mr. Claver Gatet, Executive Secretary of the UN Committee on the Economics of Africa.
26- Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport, Mr. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur Nuur, attended the Global Connectivity Forum held in Istanbul, Turkey.
27- Internal Security Minister Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag) called on the warring parties in Caabudwaaq district, northern Galgaduud oin Galmudug State, to cease fighting and bloodshed, emphasizing accountability for those responsible for the violence.
28- Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, along with his Tanzanian counterpart, participated in the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of Somalia’s independence held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
29- The Somali Directorate of Immigration and Citizenship officially launched the PISCES system (Personal Identification Secure Comparison and Evaluation System), now fully operational at Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu.

33- Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) and local forces conducted a planned operation in Moqokori district, Hiiraan, resulting in the killing of members of the Kharijites terrorist group, including Hamza Fara-adde, a prominent militant leader.
34- Somali Police Force Commander, Brig. General Asad Osman Abdullahi, chaired the weekly security leadership meeting to discuss the overall security situation in the country.
35- The Federal Government of Somalia expressed condolences over the casualties caused by an aircraft crash at Mogadishu Airport involving the AUSSOM and Ugandan Army personnel.

37- The Danab Special Forces of the Somali Army, in cooperation with international partners, conducted an operation in Baqooqaha, Jubba Valley, killing 19 Kharijites militants, approximately 13 km west of Buulo Xaaji.
38- Deputy Foreign Minister Isaaq Mahmoud Mursal met with the German Ambassador to Somalia to discuss bilateral cooperation.
39- Mustafa Dhuxuloow, Director of the Immigration and Citizenship Agency, met with the German Ambassador for Somalia affairs.
40- Ambassador Ilyas Ali Hassan presented his diplomatic credentials to President Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi in Lilongwe.
41- Somali representatives at the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) in Riyadh celebrated the 65th anniversary of Somalia’s independence and unity.

44- Local fighters from Daaru-Nimco in Middle Shabelle, HirShabelle, conducted an operation killing Hamza Fara-adde, a prominent militant leader of the Kharijites group in the region.
45- Mogadishu Mayor and Banadir Governor, Hon. Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), laid the foundation for the reconstruction of the main road connecting Banaadir Junction and Wadajir District.
46- State Minister of Communications and Technology, Mr. Ahmed Osman Diriye, participated in the 3rd Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence held in Bangkok, Thailand.
47- State Minister of Planning participated in the 2nd High-Level Meeting of the Arab Planning Institute (API).
48- Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Mr. Yusuf Mohamed Adan, held a meeting with the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Ahmed Muhammad Al Muwalad, in Mogadishu.
49- The Ministry of Interior, Federalism, and Reconciliation has scheduled the convening of the SSC-Khatumo Federal State Formation Summit for July 10, 2025.
50- The Director-General of NIRA, Mr. Abdiweli Ali Abdulle (Timacadde), participated in the 7th Digital Identity Development Forum held in Geneva, Switzerland. This forum serves as a precursor to the upcoming International Conference on Digital Identity Cooperation.
