Addis Ababa, (SONNA) — The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Lt. Gen. Bashir Mohamed Jama, addressed the high level event “Solutions on Climate, Mobility, Peace and Security in Africa” hosted by IOM, AUC, UN-AU & GGGI at the 2nd Africa Climate Summit (ACS2)in Ethiopia.
He highlighted Somalia’s frontline climate reality, droughts, floods and displacement of 3M people and stressed that climate change is also a human security issue. The Minister outlined Somalia’s priorities resilient communities, turning mobility into an asset, linking peace-building with climate action, and tailored climate finance for fragile states.
