Laascaanood, (SONNA) – The elections for the President and Vice President of the North Eastern State of Somalia, are being held today in Laascaanood, the capital of Sool region.
In the days leading up to the vote, the city has witnessed an intense campaign as candidates sought to secure the confidence and votes of members of the State Parliament.
Security forces have been heavily deployed across Laascaanood to ensure safety during the electoral process, with heightened presence at key roads and checkpoints leading into the city.
