Addis Ababa, (SONNA) – The Eastern Africa Arts, Culture, and Craft Exhibition, which took place over the past three days in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, has officially concluded. The event was attended by Culture Ministers from across Eastern Africa, with Somalia represented by a delegation led by the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Da’ud Aweys Jama.
During the closing ceremony, nine participating countries showcased various cultural programs. From Somalia, the National Band, Waaberi, presented a captivating performance reflecting Somali culture, poetry, art, and craft.
This was Somalia’s first participation in the second edition of the exhibition, and it was evident that the country had made exceptional preparations. The high level of organization left a significant impact on the Eastern African communities, with Somalia officially awarded a certificate of honor, presented to Minister Da’ud Aweys Jama.
The event, themed “Using Art and Culture for Regional Integration,” brought together communities from Eastern Africa, aiming to utilize culture as a tool for strengthening connections, enhancing diplomatic relations, fostering community integration, and promoting cooperation among the countries in the region.
